  • The versatile cryostat is for low-temperature tests (4 K to 300 K);
  • Metals
  • Polymers
  • Composite specimens
  • Typically used for tensile tests at ambient temperature (295 K) and cryogenic temperatures of 77 K and 4 K in liquid nitrogen or liquid helium.
  • Description:
    • 100 kN capacity, 3-post self-reaction frame
    • Test sample space 115 mm dia x 430 mm length.
    • Threaded high strength stainless steel pull rods
    • Grips and fixtures designed per customer request

Cryogenic Chamber

  • Vacuum-insulated liquid helium/nitrogen dewar
  • Liquid cryogen ports (fill and exhaust ports)
  • Upper Pull-rod positive pressure seal port.

  • Cable feed through port with hermetically sealed 24 pins for strain, temperature, LHE, and LN2 level probes.
  • Dual channel LHE/LN2 Level Monitor
  • LHe and LN2 vacuum-insulated transfer lines

*Extensometers and Clip gages

Model MR-001-25 Extensometer - A Versatile High-Resolution Extensometer for Low Temperature Tests

  •  Designed for tensile testing according to ASTM E8 and ASTM E1450 (ISO 6892-1 and ISO 6892-4)
  • Especially designed for low-temperature tensile tests at liquid nitrogen or liquid helium
  • Used on metals, polymers, composites, superconductors, wires, tapes, etc.
  • The standard extensometer is available with in a light spring constant model for tensile test of sensitive materials such as High Temp Superconductor tapes
